  • Loved it

This is only my second Monica Burns book but I really have enjoyed both book and would highly recommend this book. The story has a few twists you don't expect and a great love story. I'm definitely a fan now.

  • I couldn't wish for a better book

Let's just say this book is worth every penny. I am suprise how good this book is. For a book like this I would expect to pay more. It was an amazing book to read. Not one boring moment, I couldn't even put it down just to take a break. I haven't read a book with just the right amount of everything in ages. This book has just became one of my favourite book to read. The writer is amazing. Definitely worth the read.

  • Will nice guys finish last?

A really enjoyable read. My first for this author. I will be looking for her other books. Sebastian Earl of Melton is living with a secret that has shaped who he is today. He runs the house in a very controlled manner. The family live in the family home, with sisters and brothers, all adults. One evening he is alerted that a brothel is selling trafficked women and goes to check out if he can do anything to release these women. Sebastian and another Lord are bidding against each other for Helen, and the bidding goes higher until Sebastian bids $1,000 and then ups it to $2,000 if he can take her that night. Helen wants her younger brother to be released as well and won’t rest until he is released. Helen insists on being treated with respect, as she and her brother were raised by an uncle who treated them poorly. Helen would try to take the punishment for her brother whenever she could. The uncle is very bitter that his brother married Helen’s mother and now that she is dead, someone has to pay for it. An entertaining read that has a lot of substance to it. No boredom here.
