  • Great addition to the series

5 star Review Olivier (Chicago Blaze #9) by Brenda Rothert    From start to finish Brenda Rothert drew me in and held me captive with the story she wove about Olivier Durand and Daphne Barrington . This is the ninth book in the Chicago Blaze Hockey Romance series and was a fabulous addition. Although Olivier is not a particularly long book, Ms.Rothert certainly packed a lot into it. I knew that the woman who captured his heart would need to be special and Daphne is certainly that. Olivier is the owner of the Chicago Blaze team and when he rescues Daphne from her burning car, someone captures it on video and it goes viral. Olivier is attracted to the beautiful Daphne and is determined to have her, however Daphne is equally determined to have nothing to do with the wealthy hockey owner. However the attraction that sizzles between Olivier and Daphne is explosive and once Olivier convinces Daphne to take a chance on him, all bets are off. I loved these characters and it was wonderful to see familiar faces make an appearance as Olivier and Daphne finally get the happily every after that they deserve. This is one of my favourite hockey series and I am sad to see it end with this book but Ms.Rothert certainly ended the series on a high.

  • Ticked all my boxes

Oliver is the final book in the Chicago Blaze Series and what a perfect story to tie everything together with because this is owner of the Blaze and Daphne story. My only regret with this book is it ended way to soon and I wanted more but all that’s means is I will certainly be re reading this series because I love every member of the Blaze Hockey Team and I loved reading each and everyone of their stories. Oliver may be rich and powerful but that doesn’t stop him coming to the rescue of Daphne when he comes across a road accident and he risks all my pulling her out of a burning car. Daphne comes from a wealthy family but she has put that life behind her, she instantly dislikes anyone with money but what she doesn’t know is Oliver will do what ever is needed to get what he wants because he wasn’t always rich, he has had to fight to get to were he is now. So will the attraction this couple share give them a chance at love or will money tear them apart.... This book ticked all my boxes, I swooned and I sighed, I smiled and I giggled as I joined this couple on their journey, it was wonderful getting to know the owner of the team I have come to love and it was also fantastic to catch up with the team but what took this book to another level was the love this couple shared even when they didn’t realise it themselves. Great job from the very talented Brenda Rothert and I’m excited for her next series.

  • Hot!

Brenda Rothert’s OLIVER (Chicago Blaze #9) in hot. Chicago Blaze team owner Olivier Durand rescues Daphne Barrington from a burning vehicle. A video of the rescue goes viral, and everyone seems to want the two to get together. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. OLIVER is a wonderful conclusion to the Chicago Blaze series. Mr. Durand is a fantastic team owner. The Blaze is a family not just a business. Oliver is a likable character. He had a humble past and became a successful business man. He remembers his roots and is very charitable. Daphne is a great heroine. Her father is the senator. Her parents snobby attitude turned her off from rich people. She wrongly assumes Oliver will be the same. He works for her respect. Brenda Rothert did a great job with this story. It is an excellent example of why not to judging people. The story is skillfully written with interesting twists. I could not put it down, reading it in one sitting. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

  • Perfect ending to this series!!!

This was a perfect ending to the series (though if I’m being honest, I would always want more). But goodness, I just completely fell head over heels for Olivier 😍. I mean, how can you not?! He’s handsome, charming, rich, goes out of his way for you/anyone, and oh yeah, rushes into a burning car to save a complete stranger. I mean come on!! Love!!! ❤️ Daphne is strong willed, smart and oh so stubborn, especially when it comes her feelings for Olivier. But I totally loved them together. And especially how Olivier breaks down her walls. Loved!!! Can’t wait for the new series...that might make this ending bearable.

  • Flawless Connection!

This book is a bit different from the others in the series, since it isn't about a player. It's about the team owner! (I know, right?!?) I was afraid this book would lack the excitement, the adrenaline that the player books provided in spades. But I should have known better! This author took the story of a team owner and turned it into a story that is sure to be a fan favorite! It's every bit as necessary to the series as every other book! Daphne is anything but typical. She was raised is the world of the privileged elite. But her heart is that of a save the earth, free spirited flower child! She doesn't fit in anywhere, but really, that's how she likes it. She is who she is and makes not apologies for it. When she is saved from certain death by Olivier, her world is thrown into chaos. Olivier is comfortable with his life. He's confident in who he is and what he wants. But he also isn't what he first appears to be. He isn't just a high powered corporate mogul. In truth, he isn't anything like I first expected! Definitely totally swoon-worthy! Olivier and Daphne actually are perfect for each other, much more closely aligned than I first thought. Their story had a sense of rightness to it, almost inevitableness. I enjoyed their story, their chemistry, their almost flawless connection. This was an amazing story, one that I just couldn't read fast enough, but didn't want to end!
