  • Fascinating, but distracted in parts

This is a book that I'm in two minds about - it gives insight into the sport of freediving by following the life of Nick Mevoli - however, while the sport is fascinating, Nick himself is difficult to connect with and the inordinate attention to the most pedestrian details of his life starts to get boring. As presented, he came across as frustrating and wasn't easy to connect with. It would have nice to focus less on the drama of his life and more on the drama and inspiring personalities of the sport of freediving. People like Natalia Molchanova have great stories, and could have been given more attention.

    Thanks for your feedback!
