    A Action packed Regency Romance

This is the fourth book in the Studies in Scandal series and a delightful read ....after reading this book i would definitely like to read the previous 3 books ... "One for the Rogue " is the story of Gemma & Cameron & can be read as standalone... Four young ladies who are brilliant scholars in their respective fields have been chosen to be honored by Lady Celeste who admires women with good minds. Gemma is an expert in fossil hunting and studying the history of her finds. She has been encouraged by an aunt in her schorlarly pursuits . Lady Celeste has given a quest to her which she believes will be easy for her, wherein she is wrong. Gemma is frustrated by this, but her letter was incomplete and she is not sure what Lady Celeste meant for her to find. she is the last unmarried heiress in the Beauchamp house and she plans to stay that way! Lord Cameron Lisle is also a fossil hunter. He is not an heir so he is in no hurry to do anything but follow his passion for hunting fossils. He likes his life the way it is . He refused to print an article Gemma wrote which leads to a very heated ,big argument ..Gemma thinks Cameron is impossible & doesnt believe women r capable of being knowledgeable... When another fossil hunter is found murdered, Cam and Gemma begin to work together in order to find the murderer as well as retrieving the skull which has gone missing. There argument is forgotten when he agrees to help prove her theories ,find a very special fossil which proves the existence of a large lizard which once lived on the English coast. They fall in love amidst all the mystery, suspense, action ,adventure , archeological finds ,murder. Characters appear from past books, but they are introduced and easily identified. Their mutual love of geology gives them a firm base to at least form a friendship, as they spend more time together with the new family connection. My only problem with the book was it was too lengthy & the descriptive notes in the story tended to become boring which broke the connect with the ongoing story sometimes ... Again, with the Studies in Scandal series, we are treated to a mystery. Gemma's character comes across as bold, intelligent, sensible ,brave at the same time ,headstrong , stubborn, fiercely determined lady to accomplish her challenge. Cameron's Character is labelled as a Rogue but i found him amiable ,ready to accept & broaden his outlook regarding women for the right reasoning ... A good adventurous , action & mystery packed Romance... It was fun & a roller coaster ride Manda Collins takes us on ....My quest now is to read the previous 3 books in this series that i have missed

    Loved the strong heroine!

Loved the story! Gemma was the kind of heroine I prefer to read about. Extremely strong willed and able to handle herself in most situations. Cam was the perfect hero for me, strong alpha type but able to bend a bit to work with his lady. The story line was great. I had thought I knew who the villain was, but that changed about 3 times through to the end. It was a slight surprise and I loved how it was all tied up! I've read the other 3 stories, but this one is still a great stand alone! Thank you NetGalley for the advance book, I was glad I got to read it!

    fossil hunters in love

Gemma and Lisle start off on the wrong foot since he previously thwarted her chance to be published. In town for a gathering of scientific men, Lisle's visit brings him back to see his family and Gemma. Thrown together when her search for a fossil puts her in danger. It's stolen, and there's a murder. Together, these adversaries begin working together to solve the clues, and as they do, their hearts soften to one another. Danger still lurks ahead, and time is of the essence, Lisle is running out of time to save Gemma and for them to forge a future together. Fantastic addition to the series. Highly recommend. **received a copy from Netgalley**

    Smart sexy, historical romance

Smart, sexy historical romance with sides of murder and science Amanda Collins' One for the Rogue was a wonderful addition to the Studies in Scandal series. I liked watching the dynamic between Gemma and Cameron evolve. I think they were a great fit. The background story about fossils was interesting as was the murder subplot. I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.
