  • Another great start to a new fantasy series!

Morgan Rice is one of my favorite authors. She never disappoints me and this promises to be another great series. I suffered over the injustices heaped on the peasants by the nobility, which were only the start of the cruelty, betrayal, and hand-to-hand battles. There is romance, friendships formed and destroyed, and some horrendous journeys. I was given the book and I finished it in one day. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

  • Not my favorite

Well this is a hard one. This book was a good read but definitely not one of my favorites from this author. It kind of felt like it took bit's and peices from the Ring series and cobbled it together for a new quick read. Not a lot of new ideas at least in this first novel. Generally when I Start a Morgan Rice book. It's a wonderful story, combined with Rich characters and a wonderful world. This gets three stars just on the hope it will get better. Don't get me wrong it's still entertaining just not what one would expect from this Author. Oh I received a copy of this book for an honest review.,.

  • Unbelievable

And I mean that literally... I know it’s fantasy, but some things need to be realistic....oars that goes thirty feet to the water and they are able to pull them? When they arrive at the red isle camp, Morgan writes that there are a dozen of them left, and then later writes that there are dozens? This inconsistency is in many of Morgan’s books....and yet, I still read them and can’t put them down...the stories are good fun. Just wish there was a better editor.

  • Excellent

Seems to be another Morgan Rice fast moving thriller involving several plots. Enjoyed it thoroughly and have pre-ordered books 2 and 3 of the series. This starts off with a mystery that continues to build. Who is the mysterious White Knight that is really Royce's father? What path will Genivieve's decisions take? Many directions and cant wait to see how this plays out. A bit slower than normal Morgan Rice novels, but excellent all the same.
