  • A fantastic book

This is the fourth book of the Malazan Empire saga. The plot takes place in Darujistan and can be divided into three parts, the first one (Orb), shows the reappearing and risen of an ancient evil that wants to take over the city. The second (Sceptre) shows all the forces starting to commit themselves (or being forced to commit) to the impending war. The final part (Thorne) shows the final war and is where we found out why the Seguleh went into exile. This book starts a bit slow and then it picks up to end out in a blast of fury as it is normal in Ian’s books. In an overall a good book from a superb series that I really recommend to all

  • Rushed ending

Good book until the last few chapters -seemed to be in a hurry to wrap up every loose end and there were a lot of them. 720 pages
