  • Fast paced, suspenseful and romantic

Stronger and more determined than she looks, Jaime Chandler makes an unfortunate discovery, forcing her to take matters into her own hands. This leads her to Cord Austin and his wagon train, where the attraction between them is instant but not acted upon immediately. The plot of this novel is fairly fast-paced, even the descriptions of the day to day activities on the trail. The scenery is also painted with words, bringing to life the sights and sounds on the pages of the book. If Jaime thought the trials on the wagon train were extreme, the discoveries awaiting her in San Francisco are even more so. Fortunately, even though Cord tries to distance himself from her, he cannot forget her nor leave her to her own devices. Despite some violence, the story is generally well written, suspenseful and romantic and comes to a successful close. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
