• Order of the Blade - Books 1, 2 and 3

This box set includes the first 3 books of the Order of the Blade series. I've reviewed each book separately but as a whole, I enjoyed all three. "Darkness Awakened" by Stephanie Rowe. Book 1 in the Order of the Blade series. So I have to give this book 2.5 stars because this book is kind of hard for me to review. I'm pretty much split on whether I liked it or not. It sounded interesting, like something I would like, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's not a bad book, by any means, but I just had a hard time getting into it. This book is about Quinn and Grace. Quinn is a Calydon warrior and is a member of the Order of the Blade. It's his job to find and eliminate rogue Calydons and protect the innocent. But what every Calydon fears is finding his sheva, the one woman destined to be their mate, because it means their relationship is doomed right from the start. When Quinn meets Grace on his doorstep, he knows she's his sheva and tries to resist her but the attraction between them is just too strong. Grace is an Illusionist, hated and feared by all, and she needs Quinn's help. Her sister is missing and may be responsible for killing Calydons. When Quinn tells her that she's his sheva, she doesn't believe all that mumbo jumbo fate/destiny stuff. Yes she's attracted to him but it has nothing to do with fate. Can they keep their attraction under control long enough to find her sister and find out who is really killing Calydons? Or will they give in to destiny and possibly destroy the world? "Darkness Seduced" by Stephanie Rowe. Book 2 in the Order of the Blade series. I'm giving this book 3.5 stars. Action packed and sexually charged right from the beginning. This story about Gideon and Lily was exciting and emotionally driven. Gideon is a Calydon warrior, charged by a young woman named Ana, to find her friend Lily, who has been held prisoner for the last two years by a Calydon named Nate. Lily can't believe she's been rescued by the Calydon Gideon; the man who devastated her family. She'd dedicated her life to researching Calydon, especially Gideon, vilifying him as a cold-hearted, emotionless bastard, willing to kill innocent women without a backward glance. How the hell can she feel so connected to him!? Can she really trust a Calydon to keep her safe? Can Gideon even keep her safe when it's the Order of the Blade itself that may end up killing her? I really liked this story. I would have given it a sold 4 stars but I took a 1/2 star off because I still have an issue with the whole sheva curse/destiny thing but that's just me. "Darkness Surrendered" by Stephanie Rowe. Book 3 in the Order of the Blade series. I really liked this book and give it 4 stars. This book concludes the overall story arc of defeating the evil Ezekiel which is the focus of the first three books in this series. The main characters in this book are Elijah and Ana. Ana is determined to find Elijah. She thought she killed him during their battle with Nate but now knows that he's still alive. She is his sheva, the one woman who is his destined mate. When she finds him, he's hanging on to life by a thread...and he's completely insane. He'd been tortured both physically and mentally when he was held prisoner by Frank, an evil Illusionist. Her touch seems to calm him. Can she help bring Elijah back to sanity? She's an Illusionist and she's used her illusions against him already. Elijah is fighting for his sanity. Tortured in his past and his present has made his mind a freaking mess. His only salvation is Ana, his destined mate. Completing the five bonding steps with her may be the only way to keep him sane but that also means that they will destroy what each other wants most in the world. Elijah believes in destiny. Can he keep from bonding with Ana until Ezekiel is defeated? Or will his and Ana's connection defy destiny? OVERALL REVIEW - I really enjoyed the story line of each book. All were very well written and flowed easily. The chemistry between each couple is very hot and sensual. They don't deny their attraction to each other which makes for some very intimate and sensual scenes. I found all the characters strong and interesting. There were some twists in the plots that I didn't see coming. Excellent teasing as to what could possibly be the next story arc in the series. There are more Calydon warriors that need their happily-ever-afters told. I enjoyed these book and I will definitely be continuing to read this series.

A fantastic book that I couldn't put down. She says you don't need to read them in an order. But I found that I understand the story lines better. A fabulous read and totally recommend a read 🤓🤓🤓
