  • I found this book Orphan Train so interesting that I just wanted to sit and read it all in one go. The story is about 2 characters and swaps so easily between Vivian's story as a young girl and present time for Molly's story. This book was based on fact of the Orphan Train program which ran for around 80 years in the United States. A program that ran in hope of finding homes in rural America for orphans. To me it seemed that is was more about finding children to work farms or look after other children instead of finding loving homes for couples having difficulties conceiving their own children. I found thisca really interesting subject and a really easy read. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Vivian and Molly.

  • Very well written story. One can feel the pain and the fear these children lived through. I really liked this book.

  • Orphan Train

Good story line. I like historical novels, but the main character did not act like a girl of her era. She certainly was no Laura Wilder. The story was so good some character issues can be overlooked. The one real flaw seemed to be jerky writing. It would go to one event to another so quickly I had to go back and try and find out where I missed something. I.e. The announcement on the radio about pearl harbor, no reaction, no comments, but the next sentence men were off to war, killed, wives having babies with out a breath between. That is why I say a good book but only 3 stars.
