  • A French farce in a spy’s disguise

Almost a comedy...when a vacuum cleaner salesman in Havana pulls the wool over MI5’s bureaucratic eyes. A story from Cuba prior to Castro’s revolution. Interesting, partly for its time period details of Havana life, when it was an international city.

  • VeryEnjoyable

I decided to read this after seeing several references to it in leCarre's, The Pigeon Tunnel and how it influenced his Tailor of Panama. How close it came to fortelling the events of the coming Cuban revolution mssile crisis is quite uncanny. Now I will have to find the movie.
