  • Fantastic!

This story doesn’t delve into Owen’s physical therapy difficulties where one would understand his struggles with his handicaps and injuries as well as his pain and suffering. It does detail his mental ideas and thoughts regarding what he wants to do with his life, his emotional decision of how he feels about Penny, and how his decisions will impact their budding relationship. I enjoyed the patient and slow journey both Owen and Penny have with getting to know each other, all that is in their individual lives, and what each other needs and wants out of life. They are both very sensitive to the other’s pride and self-worth. Penny was able to accomplish her financial and business degrees to the benefit of her passion for her favorite charities. I appreciate Penny’s ability to educate herself on the business aspect behind her charities and what kind of assistance they need that she can provide. She isn’t just throwing a little money into a donation box to make herself look good. She means to help make a difference in people’s lives as well as the animals she helps. I was rooting for Penny regarding the issues with her parents. She deals with them with love yet isn’t afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself. The money her parents give her for her charities comes with a price, but Penny deals with it. She has the grace to respect her parents for who they are, but doesn’t stand by quietly when Owen becomes the focus of her father’s disapproval. I appreciate Penny’s sensitivity when she resolves her father’s feelings and the direction of his opinion. Overall, this is a sweet and very encouraging story about overcoming adversity, the gift of giving and a new found love.

  • Owen - Reaching for a Dream

Owen is the next vet at Hathaway House. His path crosses Penny's path and the magic happens. I love each book of the Hathaway House of Healing series. Beloved characters are found in each. book and these books are filled with insight, of relationships and challenges and fears. Laughter and gentle feelings, romance and possibilities. And determination. Lots of determination. Bravo. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • Owen at Hathaway House

Nash sent Owen a picture of himself and his fiance plus he called to try and get Owen to apply to Hathaway House. Owen agreed and found himself on crutches walking into his new temporary home getting exhausted but filled with hope that he could improve this body he was left with after stepping to close to a landmine. This is his story and in it you find hope, love and honor abound. The people of Hathaway House are such givers and they understand pain. Again I find myself in a heart tugging story of such good people that I can't resist. There is always the doubting Thomas, some naysayers or/and a cynic thrown in for good measure but the good wins out and that's what this is all about. Great series and I can't wait to read about Percy's adventure coming soon.

  • Another heartwarming story from Hathaway House.

Owen and Penny have a lot in common, so it's easy to see that they'd be a great couple. Penny is kind and compassionate, always looking to help those who are less fortunate, even small animals. Owen has a lot of the same qualities. Family issues on Penny's side are a bit of a problem, but Owen isn't going to let that stand in his way. Another heartwarming story from Hathaway House.
