    A fun first story.

Willa Friday runs a food blog, lives with her ex-husband, and rents her home and office space from her ex-mother in law, who owns the land and vineyard that she lives on. Their daughter, her assistant is starting college so she has hired a new one who is a professionally trained chef. She tends to have a catty attitude toward others who like to flaunt their wealth and believe they are better than others. Dreading a meeting with Alice Parker to get the basics for a poster for a planned event. Instead of finding an uptight tyrant prepared for a meeting, she finds Alice has been murdered. And her ex-mother in law is the prime suspect. This was a fun first story with interesting characters that was written in a way that has a lot of different directions it can go. I'm looking forward to the next one to find out what happens next. This was a clean story that was well written that can be enjoyed by anyone of any age.

    Enjoyable read

I liked this book a lot. I found the characters enjoyable to read and really was not sure who the bad guy was until the end. It was interesting reading about the food photography and how that works, too! Looking forward to the next one, have already pre-ordered!

Was a page turner for sure. Really enjoyed the book and will have to check out her other books to see if they are as well written. Would recommend the book to my friends.

Very good California wine country mystery!

Believable story line, and very good development of both the main and other characters. Really enjoyed the food & wine aspect presented, but that also made it somewhat more of a story than a mystery.
