Don't read this on a diet!

Makes you hungry and mad at that lack of self belief in the main character Sophie but somehow like Sophie who can't help eating a pudding out of her bin I couldn't stop reading this book. I'm hoping it was the food references rather than a kinship to her character.

    Doormat or Restaurant Door?

I found myself hurrying through this book as fast as I could. Not because it was good and I wanted to see what happened but because Sophie is a doormat and if she was one of my friends I'd be face palming and head shaking like no tomorrow. She drove me mad! I also found the main character sketches poor and five chapters in had to go back and make notes of their appearence just so I could imagine them. It seems the author is more enamoured by writing about food than writing fiction; however I did enjoy these bits as I'm a foodie. Perhaps she should switch genres......or maybe she has already. After all this book was published 7 years ago.

    Frustrating

I enjoyed the book but I found Sophie frustrating, we never got to find out what James problem was, and she spent too long wittering over a man who was clearly wrong for her! Gah!
