    Wonderful

I could hardly stop reading these books. They are beautifully written and the subject matter is enthralling. I'm just sorry that I won't have the experience of reading them for the first time again.

    3 books in 1.5months!

This might not sound that impressive, but it is the most I have read for pleasure for a very, very long time. Strong and complex female characters based on history and so well written.

    The Tudor Collection

Philipa Gregory is genius at keeping the pace of the storyline, so at times it feels more like a thriller than an historical novel. Even though the reader knows the final outcome for the queens, I was drawn so deeply into her story telling that I thought Anne may receive the pardon she hoped for as she stood at the block. I shared the fear with Anne of Cleves as she wondered her fate. How marvellous a writer who holds a reader so powerfully that even though you know the historical facts, you turn the pages wanting to know what happens next. I'm hooked as a fan and I'm eager to start the next Tudor trilogy.

    The Boleyn Inheritance

It is a bitty story jumping from one to another character. This really does not flow and in some parts the plot and reasons for the plot are repeated across different characters as are the written words. It seems in part laboured as if the author is struggling to get to grips with the subject and what she seems she wants to say. I found this a difficult book to read but was grateful to learn about Anne of Cleves.
