Picking up the Brass - Not funny; just stupid.

I wanted to try something different & since I have a nephew who recently joined the army, gave this book a try. There was no real story and I did not find it amusing, just boring. It used a lot of British slang and most of the colloquialisms weren't even in the dictionary. It might appeal to a certain group of male readers but I wouldn't bother reading anything else from this author.

    Fantastic book

Brilliant, the same BS of all the regiments. Almost to the 'T' - I went through the same stuff with the Infantry, the same room BS, the same Parade stuff.

    Picking up the brass

It seems it doesnt matter what Army you join they all seem basicaly the same.Reminded me so much of my time in the Australian Army when I joined in 1973.A truely great piece of writing, pity there arent more of them.
