  • Fantasy for gorwn-ass adults

The book is written as a series of journal entries by a man called Piranesi living in a strange, labyrinthine world. Especially at the beginning the protagonist seem full of innocent curiosity in his journal entries, almost childlike. I was reminded of Perelandria by C.S. Lewis, very similar vibes in this book. Only without the christianity. The reader figures out very soon that Piranesi's understanding of the events surrounding him can't be quite right, but you're still left wondering what exactly IS going on. The book is essentially about Piranesi slowly unraveling the mystery. It kind of feels like a detective novel at times. I hearthily recommend this if you would like to be taken away into fantastical places with a life of their own. If you're looking for action and excitement, don't bother.

  • Beauty slowly unfolding

From an anxious beginning where I didnt know if I would stay the course of directions and lists to a tale of such tenderness and beauty Pranesi is a 5 star read. Touching and strange it describes the indescribable structures of dreams and an inner architecture we all carry inside. I will carry it with me

  • Ontplooid

Wow

  • Nope!

I do not understand the thrall of this book. Mysterious? Yes. Overall plot? Weak. Character development? Low to moderate. Prose? Distracting. Setting? Bland. Hard, hard pass!
