  • Intense storyline!

This is probably my least favorite of the Kate Shugak books. It is on a personal level that I take offense. There are extremely strong anti Christian views expressed. Where I don’t necessarily disagree with how ms. Stabenow’s portrays extremism, I do resent all Christians being referred to as ignorant, self serving and unable to accept personal responsibility for their lives and actions. Maybe understanding forgiveness involves knowing forgiveness without there being strings attached. Religions are man made for certain, but God didn’t develop religions. He sent his word. It is scary to think how one can impose their will/kingdom upon others and the consequences that can be bore. With that being said, the storyline is intense and well written. The story does expose how a man is murdered when a group misplaces their faith.
