  • Gritty and often gross

Follows a young guy on the dole in 90s Brisbane. Through drinking binges and parties and his new relationships with sex and drugs. At its heart it's a book about love, or at least trying to figure out what love really means in your 20s and unemployed. But don't expect a glittering romance novel your mum would read. It's gritty. Often gross and disgusting in the way real life can be. Sure there's sex and drugs. But not in an idealised way. There is an honesty about the book that can be uncomfortable and confronting at times. But it's healthy to push the bounds of our sensibility every once in a while. This book does that like no other Australian book I've read.

    Thanks for your feedback!
