  • An unfinished book

I thought it would finish... There were things I think needed wrapping up if the book is going to cost £5.99

  • Prodigal

Great premise for a story, but so many plot holes and random bits and pieces tossed in with absolutely no context or fit to the story. Like, c’mon, DNA not already available from the mom. Really? Or the fact sibling DNA tests are a thing and could have wrapped the case up in the first or second chapter. Again, a fantastic premise, but so much that could have been done with some homework, was not done. It was a long, hard slog for me to make it through this novel because of disjointed ideas, and background obviously missing on so much. DESPITE this dismal review, I had to see what happened to Morgan and Boyd, and I want to know about Shay and Jessie. I did find myself invested in the main characters, and that means the author did more than just have a good idea for a story. Just wish it had been thought through more thoroughly for context, background and continuity in a lot of places. I will watch for the next book and probably read it, too. But I do hope the issues I think are in this one are all corrected and the writing is more polished and connected so I am not going back several pages to see if there was something I missed or just did not notice that would explain whatever latest vague reference I stumbled over.

    Thanks for your feedback!
