    Exciting and Fun

I was so happy to come back to this series! The moment I started it, I remembered why I had missed it so much. The magic and world building are exciting, the romances enthralling, and the action plentiful. After so many other emotionally taxing reads, it was nice to simply jump on an adventure with characters I adore and simply take part in their adventures and discoveries. Though the story was a bit slower near the end, action played a major role in RAGE. It was intense and exciting and in some cases, quite shocking. With the magic Carmack has created, it was constantly fresh and new. While it was great to come back to complex and emotional characters like Roar and Kiran (who I adore), I truly enjoyed interactions with Jinx and Nova, especially when the two were together. The romances were swoon-worthy and added some great drama to the mix. To be honest, the ending surprised me because I expected it to be the last in the series. But it seems there are more plans ahead, and I truly look forward to seeing where Roar and the storm hunters go next!

Meh. The plot's there. It's just really slow.

Maybe my mistake was thinking it was going to be able to match the first, but I just could not stay focused throughout the book. It was so repetitive and slow paced. I still love the characters and will probably read the next book, but, man, the entire book could have been shortened to ten chapters of what actually mattered to the plot. Plus, Aurora's personality dwindles to that of a stock character for much of the book. She becomes very flat and dull. With that said, I will read the next book. I like the story and where it's headed. "Rage" just suffers from major second book syndrome.

    Awesome follow-up!

So many times the middle book of a trilogy seems so slow building the story but the pace of this book was as good as the first. The ending seemed a bit rushed but I am looking forward as to how that leads into the the final book of the trilogy!

It was good but too wordy.

Every thought or action came with a long explanation. Sometimes I forgot what the person was doing or saying before hand. It also watered down the arcs. I kept yelling, "Just get on with it!!"
