  • Lost souls, love and hope. Great NA novel!

This novel tells a story of Cable and Affton. Cable is a tortured, broody young man who had a tough 20 years. Through his character, the author deals with heavy topics as addiction to narcotics and depression, and portrays his pain in a truly heartbreaking manner. There is no drama, but a lot of angst and really intense emotions that cover everything from the lowest lows to the highest highs. Affton and Cable start as enemies, but as they see each other through good and bad days, they create a bond that paired with the intense attraction results ina fiery relationship: both emotional and physical. On both counts it's beautiful and intense. Affton definitely is extremely amazing character. She is strong, tough, determined to carve her way to the better life, and be kind to and save those who let her be that for them, and that is, more than anyone, our tortured boy Cable. And while she knows relationship with addict is impossible for her, she hopes she can have it all with a recovering one. And that truly makes a crucial difference. Through lots of angst and struggling and pain, the author gives us a beautiful NA story that ultimately gives us hopd and faith that not everything lost must be lost forever. Recommended.
