  • Loved it!

I love this book. It's smart, funny, fast paced. But the best bits were the Codas, the bits after the story ended. Poignant, touching, beautiful.

  • Lots of fun for all sci-fi fans

Scalzi knows his sci-fi TV. Especially Star Trek. The book satires this and other shows. From the titular redshirts trying to avoid their ate, to the stereotypical leaders on the ship. This is about the below decks crew. Those that would be extras on the show. Those that stay in he shadow as being noticed might out them on an away mission with little hope of survival. The story is about how these people survive knowing this. And then they find out the truth. Well written, funny and a very satisfying read.

  • Pretty damn good

An entertaining read. Not quite as great as everyone else seems to think but still pretty damn good. So, minus half a star for hype and minus half a star for Scalzi's connection to SG:U (I hate that show). But seriously, you should read this.

  • Great SF parody!

You love Star Trek? You love Dune? You love any other cool piece of Science Fiction? There's a very strong chance that "Redshirts" makes fun of it in the best way possible. Embark on an adventure like never before, full of fun plot twists and all kinds of crazy. From the great mind of John Scalzi!

  • Cheese

An interesting idea that seemed to be trying too hard. OK break the 4th wall, why not. Choc-chip muffin with banana syrup.
