  • Gritty & Brilliant Read

Gritty & absorbing. A big cast and loads of twists that tested my brain power! Emotionally exhausting & I absolutely loved it. Ava returns home from LA to her terminally sick husband and a son she left behind when she was a teenager, but someone seems to be out to scare her. The games in the woods and the central theme, when revealed was disturbing but the author handles it well. Great twist at the end that I wasn't expecting. Would read more by this author.

  • Brilliant Book

This book was spellbinding from start to end with many twists. My mind was kept active throughout, which made it hard to put the book down. I cant wait to read another book by D. E. White

  • A disappearance of old, investigated by her friend

I had never before read anything from Daisy White so I was very excited to read this, It was an enjoyable read if a little predictable when it came to the identity of the sender of the messages. The story was good until then though. Ava, the lead protagonist is a detective. She is estranged from her son and hasn't seen him since he was a child but she hopes to reconnect with him when she return home to visit her dying ex husband. She returns home to mixed receptions. Some are happy to see her but others haven't forgotten events of the past when a friend of theirs went missing. Ellen Smith was among a group of friends the night she disappeared and she has never been seen again. Ava decides to investigate the occurrence herself. This was a good read. It was a slow starter but it was enjoyable and I would recommend it.
