  • Another amazing title

Yet again jay has gone out and written an amazing story that grips its readers and entices us to love its characters. It is completely different from her usual cast of characters but her writing is that amazing you find yourself not caring they arent the usual tattooed, music loving cast of misfits. 10/10. Love love love it.

  • In love

I am a huge Jay fan but I am also a person that avoids anything western. After reading retreat I am once again sure jay could sell me a fifth grade haiku and I would buy it. I have never been disappointed by her and I always jump blindly into the worlds she creates with the trust that I am going to love the ride she takes me on. I can't thank her enough for her showing me that I can love something I had written off if it comes from the right person. The world she wrote you into when she gave us retreat was amazing. I couldn't see anything that was coming next and it was the best kind of anticipation. I loved the setting and the way the story progressed. Cy and Leo were so much fun. I loved their banter, the arguments, the sweetness, and the chemistry. What a great couple. The brothers were so much fun to have intact and em was awesome. The strength of Leo and the determination to overcome was beautiful. I love the way Jay creates strong women to handle her strong men. I thought she had such a great personality and I loved the loyalty and passion she had for her relationships and the people she cared about. I loved Cy and everything about his character. It was so much more enjoyable that the story had more going on than the main characters. It made it so much harder to put down and had me rushing toward the finish just to find out what would happen. I can't praise this story enough. I absolutely loved it and I cannot wait for the next in the series.

  • Retreat

I enjoyed reading this book. There was quite a lot going on and obviously going to end up going somewhere. I liked the drama and the intricate webs of peoples lives. Some predictable but others not so much.

  • Such a great suprise!

You know what I love more than a Jay Crownover book? A suprise release Jay Crownover book! I love Retreat and I loved reading a more suspense read from her and something unlike what she hs written before. Unlike other Jay books this was single POV which I don't usually like as much, but I liked that this book was only Leo and left a little more mystery from Cy. And I loved having the mystery about him. He is a big grumpy 'almost' cowboy. I really liked how Cy and Leo play off each other. They are both stubborn and want control. It realy plays well and I liked the feel of their relationship. I really enjoyed the suspense element to the story. It felt new and interesting, I loved trying to piece together what was going on. I really enjoyed the flow and story of Leo and Cy's relationship. I anm so excited to get to the next story, especially with how things shook out at the end! Bottom line, Jay slays everything!

  • Fun start to series!

I loved Jay’s Marked Men series, and when I saw this book coming out, I was all over it. I loved this book, and this series is going to be just as good, if not better, than Marked Men. Leo and her friend Em go on a wilderness trip after something bad happens to her and she hasn’t been herself. The friendship between Leo and Em was great. Cy was the perfect hero. I liked that this was only written from Leo’s POV, I had no idea what Cy was thinking and it added to the story to not know what he was thinking when you were just as surprised by the things he did and said as Leo was. I also liked the mystery that went through on through the story and I liked that the drama came from outside the couple. I already have Shelter ready to go on my ereader!
