    Thanks for your feedback!

    A solid but light read.

Alastair Reynolds is always a reliable sci-fi author. Thematically this is very different from a lot of his earlier works, with much more of a steam-punk vibe. An easy read, not as heavy as some of his early works, but fun and engaging. Features strong central female characters which is a rare thing in this field.

    Revenger

Terrific stuff, very gripping story, told from an unusual perspective.

    Steampunk springs to mind

Or at least that's the aesthetic vibe. Disconnected from any other timeline it's not Reynolds' finest (more suited for the young adult crowd) and leaves a lot of unanswered questions for a sequel, but it's not a bad read and is sprinkled with interesting details.

    British SF in 2016

Moder british SF a bit thin at the moment but Alatair is one of the few in the thin field. This is not goif to be a clasic but is readable. Both plot and charcters thin and not beliveable. Vague steam punk theam may be one of its better aspects.
