  • Entertaining read.

I really did enjoy this book despite not knowing much about Rick James. I had read recommendations for this book (his own) rather than a recent biography of his life. I suppose my interest in him stems from Dave Chappell’s take off of RJ, which is hilarious. Anyway, it was gritty, funny in parts and he did come across as a bit of a narcissist and name dropper, but I couldn’t put it down and read it in a couple of days. If all that he wrote about is true, he lived one hell of a life, but it was a shame his indulgent lifestyle caught up with him at such a young age. Definitely worth a read.
