  • When's the next coming out?!!!

I need my fix, and to know what Mircea actually knows about Pritkin's past and parentage. Which is actually kind of fascinating and jaw dropping all at the same time. We also learn much more about Cassie's abilities than we had previously been told. All of that is exciting, especially mixed in among Rosier's own revelations, the Consul's plans of how to invade Faerie, and Adramelech's plans to help her on top of all the crazy adventures Cassie's time traveling sets her on. Two points I hope are addressed in future books among these two series. Dory's perspective on her fight with Adramelech in front of the Senate and the subsequent revelation in front of Cassie as to her true parentage. And secondly, will Cassie cave in to help give Mircea what he asked her for? And I'm not talking about his earlier desire for her to age a bunch of young vampires at the same time Kit Marlowe, the Senate's chief spy, gives those same vampires a Push to age them into master status far before their times. I won't spoil this surprise for those who haven't yet read this story, but the revelation, once gotten to, is like the biggest shock in the world. Lots of the usual madness and mayhem abounds and I can't wait to find out what will happen going forward. Can Cassie forgive Mircea or will his desire for the aforementioned item tear them apart? Will her relationship with Pritkin turn into something more and better? And will she someday get to speak normally with Dory without Dorina's anger getting the better of her? I can only hope we'll get to find out sooner, rather than later.

  • Gobsmacked, in a good way

I just finished Ride the Storm and I feel gobsmacked. Or maybe god-smacked. So much happened. Cassie is still trying to save Pritkin. And the world. Both in her own time and at Arthur’s Court in Camelot. She’s still being assisted by Rosier and dodging past Pythias. And Billy Joe finally earns his keep! Some new characters are introduced and Cassie receives help from some unexpected sources. There are too many battles to even list. Mircea shows his true face. And so does Rosier. While I’ve never been a big fan of Mircea, his manipulations never cease, I now find Rosier to be much more likable. The character development and writing in this series is top notch. Karen Chance never disappoints and always leaves you wanting more. I am so glad the next book comes out in a week because I must know what happens next!! I can not recommend this series highly enough. A must read, but start at the beginning and read in timeline order!

  • Final Battle

Ride the Storm finally sees Cassie finish her travels to the sixth century. IN her quest to save Pritkin, Cassie comes across a fey legion set out to enslave the human woman. With the help of the women, who turn out to be witches, they drive back the forces of the Fey. In cohoots with the Fey is the missing acolyte Johanna who has turned the Fey king against Cassie. In order to survive Cassie must convince the Fey King and centuries of Pythias that she is her time's Pythia and not Johanna. This book is the culmination of events from Hunt the Moon and I'm excited for the next installment.
