  • Ruined city

A very good read of pre war England after the depression and the story tellers efforts to bring work back to the shipyard.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Is this town beyond all hope?

If you like Nevil Shute, this is a pretty good one. It is set in Depression days, and a respected banker resorts to some very dodgy dealings to get a long-closed shipbuilding company running again and revive the area it served. The yard has lost all its orders and goodwill and its managers. Can he do anything? Helping him are a hospital almoner and a cabaret singer in a Balkan nightclub. There's a happy ending, but not without plenty of ups and downs along the way.

    Thanks for your feedback!
