A book to read and read again.

Amor Towles is my top favourite author. His stylish poetic prose is just beautiful. His stories simple yet mesmerising in depth and description. They stay with you.

    Rules of Civility

Overall I enjoyed this book and the good thing is it grows better with time and stays with you. The book for me was a bit slow to come to the important and interesting parts and thus I nearly stopped reading it feeling drunk on “ New York high and low society” and all the drinking and nothingness. Luckily I persisted because I was reading for book club! The author’s style is great. With his rich descriptions of people and places you can get inside the characters I liked this book for what it didn’t say. There was enough story to stimulate thought and reflect on life which was probably the intent and it encouraged more reading into the philosophy of Thoreau.
