  • Story about yesterday - lessons for tomorrow

We who were born as World War Two receded into memory, and are part of a new generation unexposed to war, take for granted the Europe we found. This book outlines how the Europe that started all over again didn't happen by accident. The author is a little slow getting his story going. However, once the back-and-forth of a very political exercise of dealmaking gets going, the book tells the reader why Americans are the way they are today, and what type of people Americans were as the boys came back from Europe. It also tells a story about what qualities it takes to lead America, and what type of consensus lies in the realm of the possible. It is a history of a continent-shaping event that documents the nobility of a nation that had leadership and greatness thrust upon it by conflict.

  • Saving a Continent

Fascinating account of the reconstruction of Western Europe after the devastation of WWII. The political, social and psychological difficulties that had to be considered and overcome are explained in great detail. A great tribute to the thousands of Americans and Europeans who spent countless hours in developing the plan and brought it to reality.
