  • Scorched a dry earth story

Very well thought out story of survival in a post apocalyptic world where water was in extremely short supply. The use of a realistic dry environment and a family of children trying to reach a valley their grandfather found that had water and supplies he had cashed.

  • Scorched

I enjoyed the storyline and the setting for the book. I also liked the characters that were made for the story, although generally people are a little more complex than what the author portrayed. References to the past that generated the conditions for the book's setting were helpful but not fully satisfying for a reader like me who wants to understand more about the how of things. Would probably enjoy reading other books by this author.

  • An exciting read

I really enjoyed this book. It's exciting and interesting and I liked the characters, although there's still room for some depth to the villains. Kudos to the author for much improved grammar. It's much easier to enjoy her wonderful story telling abilities! (Two things. Throughout, she refers to exerpts from private letters. An exerpt is part of something, whereas these are complete letters. I think the content and italics make it clear what they are and the distracting title isn't necessary. Also, the rule is ... he gave it to Glo and me not Glo and I. Because you'd never say he gave it to I.) Now, onto the latest installment of her Endless Winter series, which will no doubt keep me up reading all night!

  • Great story teller!

I loved this book, very clean, well written with plenty of twists & turns & I didn't expect that. Unque spin on a disaster story.
