    Typos

There are a lot of typos e,g, page 24 is almost unreadable, and I'm not halfway through the book yet!

    Servants of Evil

A good read. It is interesting to here the storys from so many men who only fought because it was the only thing they could do, it was either fight, be shot or be sent to the front lines with no training.

    bad editor

Carruthers leans heavily on the memoirs of the likes such as Galland and Hermann. Those who expect only German account will find an inordinate amount of Allied accounts as well. What bothered me the most is the plethora of typos, spelling errors, mistakes in translation from German accounts and bad grammar. Mind you, English is not even my first language.Therfor I am rating this book with 2 stars. Those who are interested in German accounts, better get the word from the horses mouth.

    Very interesting record.

If you want to see the war from the German side, this is a good place to start. Covers all branches and a bit of the Allied side as well.
