  • The Shadow Crosser by J.C. Cervantes

The Shadow Crosser is the third and last book in the brilliant Storm Runner series. Following the adventures of Zane Obispo, a godborn (half human, half god) son of Hurakan, and his friends as they explore and quest in the modern world and the world of the Mayan gods. In The Shadow Crosser, Zane has to figure out how to find and awaken the ancient Mayan gods, who have been kidnapped and put to sleep by an Aztec/Mexica god raised by killing another god. But before that all happens, the hero has to find the sixty-fourth godborn, get them back home and get to SHIHOM for their training. After a unexpected and shocking betrayal, Zane finds the godborns and reunited with some old friends before heading back to Isla Holbox and seeing his mum for the first time in months. Post a disturbing chat with Ixtab, Zane and his friends take the bumpy ride to SHIHOM and lose a precious artifact to Ixkik and Camazotz, but arrive in time for the lightning pounding ceremony. After disturbing rumours that the gods have disappeared, so after Zane and his "crew" do some research and Zane has a a spooking visit to Chapat, they figure out where the gods are being held*. Therefore they had to find Ki'in, a magical calender created by Pacific, that allows the finder to see across all times and dimensions. Using Hondo as a shadow crosser, Zane, Brooks, Marco and Adrik travel to where the gods are being held and bring them back to SHIHOM, but are shocked to find out they are all teens and powerless. With gods dropping like flies, Zane has to do something to stop Blood Moon, Jun'ajpu and Xb"alamkej from killing all the gods and burning down the World Tree, so he has to confront them and defeat them. Signed Ari Patel aka Darth (Shadow) Crosser 11 3/4 in 2020 year of the pandemic. *Helpful hint: if you were trying to find the gods think retro Star Wars /- ( <-- lightsabers) If you haven't already get The Storm Runner and The Fire Keeper the first two books in this jaw-dropping series by J.C. Cervantes.
