    Sociology meets neuroscience?

Suspense tale set on a far-future space installation which is co-inhabited by descendants of slum-dwellers, squads of hi-tech soldiers and neuroprogrammed collective personalities, all living somewhat uneasily together...at least until the status quo is disrupted by both internal & external destabilising elements. The protagonist, a strong but conflicted female character, navigates a difficult course between perceived community obligations & her own ethical & personal choices. Plot took quite a while to pick up speed, but the mystery part of the novel was engaging once it started to become clear and I appreciated the author's courage in not resorting to any artificially-easy answers. Would purchase the sequel to see what happens next...

    Love Patty Jansen!

I get sucked in deeply to Patty Jansen's books. The characters are 3-dimensional. The setting is gritty sci-fi. I will be avidly reading the next in the series.

    Shifting Reality

The common people are slaves. The elite class are the rules. The clones are the solders. The cyborgs are the enemies. All contained in a space station many light years away from a dead earth.

    Shifting Reality

Well built characters in a brave new world that reflects all the prejudices of the present. Some are trying to bridge the gap and succeeding. Fast moving keeps you involved

    Among the best

Intense political action in a technologically sound universe. The well defined characters evolve in a complex society.
