  • So true to word.

I enjoyed this book and even though it presents a story of the Anderson family it also presents an insight into the war and hardship of the time. I found it very hard to put down once I got into the second chapter.

Pretty good book. Characters blend in well together. Sorry when I got to the end.

Subject matter was interesting. However I would have enjoyed reading a little more about the actual battles where lives were lost. An i teresting perspective on thd class system in Britain and Scotland and how political change came about after WWII.
