5 star Review Singe (Men of Inked: Heatwave #8) by Chelle Bliss After reading the previous books in this series and knowing everything that Carmello (Mello) Caldo has been through I couldn’t wait to see what Chelle Bliss had in store for this broken, troubled man. I knew that the woman who would bring him back to life would need to be special and that is exactly what Arlo King is. My heart broke for everything that had happened to Mello and the pain, guilt and sadness that surrounds him. I fell hard and fast for this swoon worthy, caring, protective and passionate man. It has taken him years, but he is finally ready to move on. Arlo is a woman haunted by her past and she has her own baggage to contend with. Mello’s cousin Lily begs him to stop his playboy ways and wants to help him find love. Since Mello is sick of the life he has been leading, he accepts her help. He is surprised when Arlo re enters his life. When they first met there was an instant connection and sparks flew but since both are wary of relationships nothing developed at the time. This time their friendship changes to a “fake” relationship which quickly morphs into a slow burn, passionate love. I loved Mello and Arlo, both separately and together and in my opinion Arlo was perfect for him. There is humour, steam, tears, love and interference by the wonderful Gallo clan. This book is all about second chances, love and family. One click this little gem, you won’t be disappointed.

  • So, so good!

The Men of Inked: Heatwave series has been one that I haven't been able to get enough of. I wait for each one to be released knowing that I get to visit with the Gallos and their extended family and I know that I will be thoroughly entertained. Carmello "Mello" Caldo has always been a player. He suffered a trauma over a decade earlier that still haunts him and he has never been one that wanted a relationship because of it. He's always known it wasn't his fault, but forgiveness is hard to give in any circumstance, but especially when it involves forgiving yourself. He's finally 31 years old and he's starting to think settling down might be a good idea and as soon as his cousin Lily hears that, she puts a plan in motion to help the process along. Arlo King has had a rough life which has caused her to have commitment issues of her own. She's a bookworm who worked for a period of time as a model, but at the moment she's a writer and doing what she can to keep her life quiet and moving forward. When Lily approaches her about entering into a "fake" relationship with Mello so she can give Lily some intel to find the "right" woman for him, she agrees. Mello and Arlo are such an interesting pairing! They definitely don't seem like they would fit on paper, but they are exactly what the other needs to balance them out. They don't trust easily, but for some reason, they feel safe with one another. It was wonderful to have a storyline where there wasn't a third party involved in the issues, it was more about working through their own stuff in order to make things work. I'm a big fan of the entire Men of Inked series, from the OG's to the younger generations, and if for some reason you haven't picked up these books, you need to check them out. Chelle Bliss has created such an amazing group of people who all have their own interesting stories and paths to happily ever after!!

  • Sweet and sassy

This is low drama, super sweet with a really delightful story of two people falling in love. Carmello is finally ready to move on with his life and look for a real connection with a solid foundation. He’s been through something terrible and it’s taken a long time to find his feet again. Arlo is sass and sweetness all wrapped up in the perfect package. She’s had demons of her own to overcome and together they are the perfect match. Their attraction is instant but plays out over a little time. It’s not rushed and feels like the timing is just perfect.

  • Heart Melting Romance

Carmello and Arlo's romance melted my heart and raised my temperature. This story is well written and engaging. Offering plenty of fun but also major feels, I absolutely loved this book and the tale it had to tell. A smooth blend of rich emotions, heart, drama, humor, sweetness, sparks and steam flows across the pages and let me tell you, is a pure pleasure to read. I felt that this was a stellar addition to a outstanding series that can always be counted on to deliver the swoon you crave, with lot of laughs and a side of charming warmth provided by family and friends. A totally awesome read!! This is my independent, impartial review.

  • A magical Gallo romance!!

Carmello Caldo loves his family, never misses Sunday dinner and was raised to be respectful and protective of women. With his good looks and sexy swagger, he has broken many hearts and left many women wondering why he never called them back. Things changed for Carmello when he met Arlo King. Their first meeting may have been short, but she left a lasting impression on him. When their paths crossed again one night he knew that fate had stepped in to bring Arlo back to him. I love everything about the extended Gallo family. All the cousins are close to each other and their spouses are best friends, and they just wanted Carmello to be as happy as they were. Carmello and Arlo’s friendship was sweet and romantic and I enjoyed watching them get to know each other as they realized that life was better when they were together. His parents, Izzy and James, are one of my favorite couples and they always offer the best advice to their sons. Whenever I am reading about the Gallo family it reminds me of sitting at my Nana’s kitchen table having dinner as I catch up with my many Italian cousins. The joy of seeing each other again is exhilarating and the time spent together is priceless. There is nothing as important as family and the Gallo’s show us that no matter the circumstances, love is the answer and family is forever.
