  • Revenge never tasted so sweet!

This delightful historical romance, full of angst and sweetness is the story of Lucan and Constance. Lucan is determined to have his revenge for the death of his sister, and sees no better way to achieve this then an eye for an eye - ruin the man's sister who ruined his own. But upon meeting beautiful and innocent Constance, his plans turn to ashes in his mouth - he wants nothing more than to ravish her rather than ruin her. Will his plan for revenge cost him a chance at future happiness? I loved this story! Within the first few pages, the setting is well established, the characters are set and the dance of revenge begins, to the delight of the reader, knowing that in stories such as these, plans never workout the way they are intended. Lucan is a strong, determined, bitter man and though he thinks he can be hardhearted and cruel, in reality he is a good person. Constance is equally engaging as a sweet and strong young woman, bearing the lash of society's whip against her and her illegitimate birth with strength and fortitude on the outside though it pains her inside. Lucan's attentions to her should be discouraged, she knows this, yet she can't resist his charms - anymore than he can resist hers. As the story progresses, the push and pull between them, and Lucan's struggle with himself to do what he wants versus what he should do keep the reader on pins and needles. The sexual attraction between them is evident from the start, leading to several deliciously sexy scenes. Secondary characters play a strong role in the story, Lucan's club mates and Constance's family providing extra tension and moments of humour as well. In the lead up to the conclusion I found myself a bit teary eyed as the emotions of the characters pulled at the heartstrings. From beginning to end it was a fast moving and entertaining read. 5 stars!

  • Would recommend.

Anguish and pain have drawn them together. Will revenge and hate tear them apart? I was given an ARC of Sins of A Duke for an honest review. They met unexpectedly on a night full of darkness. Constance needed a friend and is drawn to Lucan's (Lord Sin) dark brooding presence. Unbeknowst to her there is more at play than meets the eye. She is a pawn in game of chest that she is not aware of? The beauty and mystery of this story is what I loved. This two characters flaws are what make them human. Would recommend.
