  • Repetition at its finest

I liked the concept of slating and the book had about 3 exiting bits-the most exiting ones being in the middle and in the end...in between the story was bland and repetative. It lacked a lot of the things that can make dystopian novel actually interesting: Environment description to pinpoint the differences from not to then, government (or schooling) descriptions (for example; explain why agriculture was so important), and plot that does not revolve so tightly around repetative behavior-in this case running, running, and running. The beginning got me reading, middle made me hope for an end, and end made me wish that it could have happened sooner so I had not had to read all the wishy washy useless "romance" stuff that felt a lot like just a useless add on.

  • Solid novel

I’m surprised this book isn’t more well-known. The mystery kept me intrigued throughout the book and the ending makes you want to read the next installment. Wish there was a little more worldbuilding though. It all seemed a bit vague based on the descriptions we got. I would defeniteley recommend this book If you like dystopian / YA.

  • Intriguing concept

The concept is intriguing. Unfortunately, there is many dull moments and a LOT of repetition. I feel like some scenes were not necessary and were put into the story just for shock effect. The world was flat, like a painting without textures. Overall, it is a decent read with good idea behind it.

  • Really engulping.

From the first chapter, you just want to keep on reading and reading, as one event is solved and another one is formed! The thoughts that Terry describes, contribute really well to the whole effect of feeling what the main character is experiencing and questioning! A really good read!
