  • Travel fun and beautiful friendship

This book gives you all the holiday feels. This is the perfect beach read. There is a likeable main character, lovable supporting characters, depth and substance, some romance and beautiful scenery. This book has made me want to drop everything, hire an RV and travel through Europe. This was a delightful, easy read. I will definitely read more of these lovely holiday reads from Sue Roberts.

  • Enjoyable read

I enjoyed reading Some Like it Greek and getting to know the characters; they felt like old friends. It was fun to travel along with Anna and Demi and enjoy their adventures and family history and stories. For a couple of hours, I was transported to many wonderful locations that sound beautiful and rich with history and experiences. Anna finds information that her father may have been planning to return to Greece, where he visited and worked as a young man. She decides to take a road trip, travel to the same places her father went, and spread his ashes after his recent death. I love the line in the book when one character asks, "What's the occasion?" and the answer is, "Life is the occasion. Live it." Anna and her friend Demi travel from England through the Swiss Alps into France, then Bologna, Italy and into Greece. Unlike the book and Anna finally saying that nothing feels uncertain to her anymore, that is my problem, everything is feeling uncertain for me. That is why I love to read so much; for a brief amount of time, I can transport myself into the books' lives and destinations and escape. I will check out other books by Sue Roberts as I enjoyed her writing style and storytelling. #SomeLikeItGreek #NetGalley

  • A journey with positive results😊

🌅Cozy tale of family, friends, feta and a little road romance 💕 🛂🚢🚙 4-4.5🌟stars In the usual style of the Sue Roberts novels I've read, this story delivers a strong female lead who learns about herself while having a lovely time! It's easy to read and, though it deals with some serious heartache, the general spirit is happy and positive. Anna undertakes a driving journey from England to Greece, totally out of her comfort zone, to honor her recently-deceased father's memory and find her own connection to the places he visited as a young man and never forgot. Anna is a generous soul and when she learns her traveling companion Demi's sad story related to her move to England from Greece she becomes instrumental in resolving a fifty year mystery. Strangers well met along the way include a handsome vagabond Irishman who provides some romance and a sea glass jeweller who looks strangely familiar. Summer sun, tasty local delicacies and some beautiful sights throughout Europe lay the background for an enticing, leisurely read, whether at the beach or at home. Thanks to publishers Bookouture and NetGalley for providing an advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

  • Vacation I didn't know I needed

Some Like It Greek is just the vacation I needed. Never has a book made me want to get up and travel far away on a trip I did not know I needed to make. After her father's death, an argument with her sister, breaking up with her cheating boyfriend and losing her job Anna is ready to go on an adventure. She decides to take a trip to Greece her father had planned on taking before his death and gets family friend Demi to agree to go with her. Demi has not been back to Greece in decades and as she is afraid to fly, taking Anna's father's old fish van is the perfect solution. Anna and Demi pack up the van and drive through France and Italy before taking a ferry to Greece. While in Italy Anna meets Dara, a handsome Irishman who is an adventure in himself. Demi encourages Anna to be young and enjoy her youth while she can and that includes enjoying Dara. The trip to Greece has surprises in store for Anna and Demi that will change both of their lives. I loved this book and cannot wait to read more of Sue Roberts's books. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Sue Roberts for allowing me to read an ARC of this book.

  • Beautiful Story

What a beautiful story of love, friendship, family, and self forgiveness. After the funeral for Anna's father, she is cleaning out his house when she finds the maps he used many years ago to go on an adventure in Europe with his friends. To pay tribute to his memory she decides to clean out his van and take a road trip following the path her father took. Her elderly neighbor , Demi, has always been close to the family and is from Greece. She has not been back to her home in many years and decides to make the journey with Anna to reconnect with her family for her 70th birthday,. Their journey brings many secrets to light, self revelations, and special friendships. Loved this story with some sad, some laughs, and a lot of adventure. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
