  • A great addition to the series!

Clients are rather thin on the ground for Maggie these days.   She's reduced to finding lost felines.  Hence when a not-so-pleasant food truck owner says she's been receiving threatening letters, and doesn't trust the Gardaí, Maggie is already planning the investigation.  Till they get back to her office and find a dead body. Turns out it was Lenny.  He'd thought it a good practical joke.  And the would-be client wants nothing to do with either of them! It's not long though, before Movie Reel Investigations are involved in a case that will put them well into the black.  Maggie's sister Beth is in town with a production company shooting her first movie.  But there's a saboteur on set, and it looks like Beth could be the intended victim.  They want Maggie to find the culprit. This fast paced, edge-of-your-seat tale will keep you guessing right till the moment the villain is unveiled!  The characters have by now become friends, and I can't wait to see what Maggie snd Lenny get into next! [Many thanks to the author for the opportunity to read an Advance Reader Copy of this book.   This is my honest review, the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]

  • Lol moments

I received an arc and the opinions and views are my own. You cannot have a Maggie Doyle investigation without a humorous mishap. A lol moment. Also a murder, a mystery and a thief. I have to say I loved Sammy and the Maine coon cat Quibbles. A fun read that is so needed right now, allowed me to laugh and enjoy. I would recommend this book.

  • Fun Read

Some Like It Shot is the sixth Movie Club Mystery by Zara Keane. This is a series that is a hoot to read. This installment being no different as the investigator, Maggie Doyle and associates go undercover on a local movie set. I dare anyone not to laugh out laugh as Lenny finds his place in the world of acting. His experiences and his enjoyment of them are a true work of writing art. It is sad that Maggie doesn’t have nearly as much fun but it is good to see her interactions with a sibling. Some things about Maggie become clearer. Of course, Liam, boyfriend and a police sergeant also makes more than one appearance on the movie set. Lovely, funny story which was just what I needed to read. I bet you will enjoy it too if you like cozy mysteries with unusual characters. 4.5 Stars The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  • Another fun Movie Club mystery

Maggie Doyle returns in Some Like It Shot. I always make a date with myself when a new Movie Club mystery publishes. I know I am going to sit down and just read it straight through! Maggie, Lenny and Liam are all cast as extras in a movie whose lead is Maggie's sister. Maggie and Lenny are investigating a series of suspicious accidents on the movie set. Liam is looking for jewel thieves. I love these characters. This book has an interesting plot. Is anything and anyone who they appear to be? You will not want to miss this newest Movie Club mystery.
