  • Dark story

A light look into the horrors of mental illness. Nice story but makes you look into yourself and realise it is not all bad

  • Stunning

Somewhere Close To Happy is both a funny and heartwarming story of first loves and the importance of friendship but also a very moving and wise exploration of mental health, childhood, self discovery and - ultimately - the importance of being brave. Louis's is a bold, standout voice in the women's fiction genre and Somewhere Close To Happy deserves to be huge.

  • So real

I loved the way mental health and finding yourself is wrapped up in a teenage love story, family tensions and is so true to life. A heart warming read told in flashback and present day. Very readable and most enjoyable.
