  • Sophie s choice.

I wanted to read this book because I have heard of the movie but have not seen it. The book kept my attention and I could not put it down. I have read other books about the events in Poland during WWII and this showed me events from another angle.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Excellent title for the story

Styron is an author who writes honestly and fearlessly.

  • Sad Sophie

So long. So sad. So repetitive of Nazi scenes. Flawed characters everywhere. Glad to finish.

  • Not recommended

This story was told in long, tedious detail. A young woman who survives the cruelty of World War 2 finds an outlet for her pain in unhealthy relationships in New York. The author uses the sexual exploits as a backdrop to the woman's unfolding story of her ordeals. This was a tough read to get through and would not be recommended to most.
