    Loved it!

LOVED! This! Book! I'm so sad to see this series end but I must say Ms. Meader saved the best for last. Wyatt Fox is a sexy former marine working for the Chicago FD. As a member of the misfit Dempsey clan what else would he do?? He's a man of few words but with looks like that who needs words? While recovering from a recent injury he finds himself as a consultant on the movie set of Molly Cade. A woman he never thought he'd see again after their one night filled with passion. That one night wasn't enough for him so maybe the heavens have put her back in his life for a reason. Will Molly agree? For someone who really doesn't enjoy the limelight could he survive in her world? Could she give up the lights of Hollywood?? You definitely want to read this one and find out. Put this one on the must read list! I highly recommend it.

    Scorching hot!

Ms. Meader does not disappoint in this installment of her Hot in Chicago series as the oldest and last Dempsey standing succumbs to the call of love. SPARKING THE FIRE has got everything you love in a romance: raw passion, sweet and tender moments, witty and entertaining dialogue and lovable characters, and is just too good to pass on. Right now, I'm torn between excitement at finally reading this book after waiting for so long and sadness that this is it: the end. Two strangers in a bar, several night of passion and forever memories. Five years later they meet again, this time as a famous Hollywood actress and the man standing in the way of her achieving her comeback. Molly Cade is not going to let anyone stop her from getting what she wants, not even the man that has haunted her dreams for so long and Wyatt Fox is just as determined to protect his family, which makes for fun times when the sparks begin to fly! I loved these two so much. The passion between them, their emotional bond, the ways they completed each other, even how they fought, I loved it all. Molly may have been knocked down, but she's definitely not out. She's smart, beautiful and down to earth and fit right in with the Dempseys. Wyatt is a loner by nature and by choice, but Molly was exactly what he needed to bring him out of his shell and forge stronger connections with his siblings and his confession of how she changed the direction of his life five years ago was an 'awww' moment for me. As a bonus, catching up with the rest of the family was so enjoyable. Part of the fun in this book is the way the siblings interact and have each other's backs, but are quick with the tough love when needed. If you haven't read anything by this author, this series is a perfect place to start and TBH, her entire back-list is worth your time. This series as a whole is a must-read, with every book as good as the next and I recommend it for the keeper shelf. I'm sure I speak for many when I wonder if Ms. Meader can, I don't know, scrounge up a lost cousin from somewhere or perhaps a wedding in the family, to give us another chance with these characters. AWESOME BOOK, AWESOME SERIES

SPARKING THE FIRE by Kate Meader is a warm, witty romance and is the fifth book in the sizzling HOT IN CHICAGO series. Sadly, this is the final book in the series and focuses on the last of the Dempsey firefighting family to find his happily ever after. Wyatt Fox is a 6'3" tall, dark and badass ex-Marine firefighter who's doing light duty while he's nursing a shoulder injury from his latest rescue. He's assigned as a consultant to a movie being filmed about his firefighting foster sister, Alex, and, lo and behold, the star is none other than the hottest hookup he's ever had, actress Molly Cade. He's never forgotten the wild and wanton week he spent with her five years before. Molly is desperate for this movie to succeed. Her Hollywood sweetheart image has suffered from negative publicity, both from her failed marriage and leaked nude pictures. Imagine her surprise when she discovers her story consultant is none other than the man she spent five glorious nights with when she was a fledgling actress and that he's part of the Dempsey clan featured in her film. This follows their renewed connection and all their trials and tribulations in developing a deeper relationship. Though I hadn't read any of the previous books in the series, I was able to follow this one without any trouble. The main characters are very different from each other, and as I read through the whole series (I purchased all the other series' books the minute I finished this one), I noted that each person stays true to his or her own distinct flaws and strengths. You can even recognize a character just from how they talk (similar to the unique characters in Kristen Ashley's awesome ROCK CHICKS series). Pros: 1. The plot and subplots are realistic and are interwoven skillfully. 2. Every scene is important to the overall storyline, not just filler to increase page count. 3. Characters are all unique and stay true to their strengths and flaws throughout the series. Cons: None that I can tell. Overall: SPARKING THE FIRE is a delightful second chance romance starring an alpha firefighting male and a strong actress female, and their story is the perfect ending to the HOT IN CHICAGO series. If you like men-in-uniforms romances, this series should be one of your top choices to devour at the beach. So bon appetit and happy reading! If You Like This, You Might Like: THE CHICAGO REBELS and TALL, DARK AND TEXAN SERIES by Kate Meader, ROCK CHICKS SERIES by Kristen Ashley, FBI/US ATTORNEY SERIES by Julie James, SEX, LOVE & STILETTOS SERIES by Lauren Layne, HOT ZONE NOVELS by Carly Phillips, CHICAGO STARS SERIES by Susan Elizabeth Phillips * Read other book reviews at Blue Moon Mystery Saloon blog. ** An e-galley was provided by Pocket Books and Edelweiss for an honest review.

    I'm gonna miss this family!

Another fun, drama filled story of the Dempsey family of Engine Co. 6! This is a great family and I've enjoyed their stories so much. Always a sexy hot read, with lots of family depth and humor thrown in! Scandalized Hollywood actress Molly Cade needs her latest film to go off without a hitch to earn back some respect for her tainted career! She wants every aspect of her action flick to be precise, so she is working with the best firehouse around to make it happen. Sexy loner Wyatt Fox needs something to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest hot-headed recovery stunt at the firehouse, so his Lieutenant sets him up to be the expert consultant on the movie set of an upcoming movie. He's trying to get out of it until he realizes it's a Cade Productions film. Molly Cade and he once burned up the sheets in a week long anonymous fling, so he can't pass up the chance to see her again!

    Fun, sexy , intense

4 stars--SPARKING THE FIRE is the third installment in Kate Meader’s contemporary, adult HOT IN CHICAGO erotic, romance series focusing on the Dempsey family-a family of firefighting foster siblings who have seen their fare share of heartbreak and pain. This is former Marine/ firefighter Wyatt Fox, and actor Molly Cade’s story line. SPARKING THE FIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory, cohesion and enjoyment as all of the previous story line characters play secondary and supporting roles. Told from dual third person perspectives (Wyatt and Molly) SPARKING THE FIRE follows the rekindling relationship between Hollywood’s controversial and fallen sweetheart Molly Cade, and firefighter Wyatt Fox. Five years earlier our couple spent one glorious $ex filled week together, no names allowed, after which each went their separate ways. Fast forward to present day and Molly’s production company arrives in Chicago to film her latest blockbuster movie, a story about a female firefighter and her foster family of firefighting brothers-a story line similar to the Dempsey family dynamic. Enter Wyatt Fox, temporarily on medical leave of absence from the CFD, and the newest professional firefighting advisor for Molly’s movie production. What ensues is the rekindling of a relationship between our leading couple, Molly’s integration in to the Dempsey clan, and her ongoing struggle to remain hidden from the paparazzi and media onslot that continues to focus on the events that lead to our heroine’s fallen reputation. Wyatt Fox is the quiet, dark, and brooding Dempsey sibling-a man who lost his ‘blood’ brother on the job, and a man with a secret that is about to be revealed. Molly is a Hollywood actress, hoping for a comeback, whose reputation was destroyed one year earlier. Together Waytt and Molly fight the paparazzi, the past, and struggle towards a future with or without one another. The push and pull of the attraction is heightened as our couple contemplates the forbidden ‘workplace affair’ but also Wyatt’s need to keep his private life separate from the Dempsey clan. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and intense-how many times can one couple ‘christen’ the backseat of a classic Camaro. There is a large secondary and supporting cast including all of the Dempsey foster siblings who are fiercely protective of their own. With their pasts shrouded in controversy including quick tempered ‘Youtube’ exposure The Dempsey’s battle the media almost as often as the Hollywood stars. I welcomed Gage and Brady’s ongoing love affair and the look into a possible future. SPARKING THE FIRE is a fun, sexy, intense and revealing story line. Kate Meader adds a little bit of a twist to the family saga -one in which Wyatt was reluctant to reveal too early on- and a secret that threatens the relationship between Wyatt and his brother Luke. The premise is entertaining and will captivate your attention; the characters are colorful, charismatic and spirited; the romance is emotional and passionate.
