  • Absorbing Thriller

I read this in about three sessions and enjoyed the book. However the finish was a little muddled and not as satisfying as the rest of the plot. It was explained in the fact that the follow up poses the question did he do it? Well this should have been decided within this story not as a teaser for the next. Disappointing.

  • Where’s the ending?

I was enjoying this book and Crosby’s excellent character development until i reached the very rushed ending that didn’t answer any of my questions. The book had been quite suspenseful and i was really curious about the killer’s motives but they were never disclosed. It appears i have to read a second book to find out.

  • Good but not great

One of those stories that builds slowly, creating memorable characters, first seen dimly like a cut-out but then rounding them out as we see their behaviour. So far so good: well written and highly entertaining. The action picks up pace and then: all of a sudden: we are in the race to the finish, with sirens wailing. But inexplicably we are left with new enigmas and questions and faces with my biggest and frustration: and it seems so churlish to say it. We are being inveigled not to stop with this free e-book but to carry on into the next book: presumably at a price. I find this completely destoys the pleasure we had in the first book and have marked it down accordingly...
