    Believe the hype

This book seemed to be everywhere; in book shops, reviews on the radio. So I decided to buy the eBook to see what all the fuss was about. It is indeed a lost classic. The story is uneventful and could be considered mundane; the life of a man. The quality and beauty of the prose however entrances. Simple things are described with economic yet lucid clarity in a way that resonates to ones very core. A precious literary treasure.

    Brilliant

Real, poignant and bittersweet. The pages breathe... a must read for someone who goes through the routine of living.

Simple the best book I've ever read

It's a simple look at a simple life but including all the nuance, beauty, and struggle we all experience. I cannot say enough about the book. The prose is stunning, often so very moving, and the arc of narration is perfection. My only regret is I didn't discover this book earlier. I recommend this book to all my friends looking for something new to tackle and I recommend it as highly as I can. I don't often reread books (so many books, so little time), but I've read Stoner twice and will read it again soon. If you love a look into the human experience you won't be disappointed with this.

    Wonderful novel

The second time I’ve read Stoner and it remains a work of wonderful power and construction.

    Stoner by John William

Excelent read. Possibly the best I have read in many years. A true classic, in my opinion. Beautifully written. Williams shows a truly wonderful skill in story telling.
