    Good book

A bit like Pratchett - odd, funny at times and utterly gripping

Storm Front Review by Literary Wombat

Read the full review on Literary Wombat http://www.literarywombat.com/entry/storm-front-dresden-files-1 Storm Front is an adult urban fantasy that's light on the lore without skimping on important details, and focuses more on friendship than romance. I listened to the audiobook narrated by James Masters who is a total dish to listen to. The book was fast paced but easy to read over an extended period of time. It's characters come fleshed out from the very beginning, which saves time in initial character building.

    Alright

I liked the idea of the book, but the narrative voice and main character are both annoying. The main character just can't stop ogling every female that comes by and can't stop mentioning how tall he is and how long his legs are. Makes me think the author has a complex. The villain was also rather weak, both story wise and power wise.

    Well worth a read.

The concept of an arcane gumshoe is very appealing and this is certainly a great start. I look forward to reading the next one.

    Storm front

good but a little shallow, quick and easy read. wrld is cool abd the wizard investigator concept is fun. writren with a very male perspective, woukd be good if Dresden was more likeable, not so much about female character looks etc. reading 2nd book to see if character develops into somethung better. 3.5
