    Virus Gone WILD

Rebecca Zanetti is an expert weaver of complicated characters and fast paced nonstop events happening after Scorpius' Destruction. Maureen Shadow is a Biotechnology Engineer working in a remote lab trying to save plant life to feed the survivors in the bacterial aftermath. Greyson Storm, a military sniper, has created a mercenary camp with the goal of not only establishing order in a chaotic world but with a revenge focus. Kidnapping Maureen is a plan Greyson comes up with to coerce her brother's help. With a ruthless nature but a kind heart Greyson and Maureen connect romantically despite circumstances involved. Enlightening locations and the challenges to survive after this devastation make for a gripping read. Even with this being a part of a series it can be read as a stand-alone. Makes me want to read novels 1-3 though. Loved the couple sentences to start each chapter sharing a journal entry from whose point of view is forthcoming. Love changes everything.

Greyson Storm and Maureen Shadow are such an unlikely pair. But together they set off fireworks. He knows exactly which buttons to push to either make her fume or then get her on the same page as him. Being caught between the Mercenaries and Vanguard, her loyalties are split two ways. She has a secret and a target in mind and both Grey and her bull-headed brother Raze are getting in her way. So when the opportunity arises to get what she wants, she sides with Grey at the chagrin of her brother, knowing she's not helping to keep the peace between to two rivals. But her purpose is now greater than the two groups. Grey never thought that he'd ever meet someone like Mo and the few weeks he's had her around has made him rethink everything. Making sure that his team survives had been his only focus till he met her. Now there is so much more at stake and he's facing a decision that may ultimately help Mo but he's definitely going to lose her if he decides to go down that path. And Grey doesn't think that he can continue to thrive in this dreadful shell of a world without her. I received an Advanced Reviewers Copy from NetGalley for voluntary review consideration.

4.5stars Storm gathering is another great story in the Scorpius Syndrom series. I was hoping for the great story and it was. In these book happens a lot and is constantly happening. It is also great that the story is not predictable at all. Both Gray and Maureen are great characters, easy to like. Gray although toward the others is for me not so cold ruthless, like the previous Heros, from the start we see that Maureen is his weak spot, that this girl will change his life. He is a great leader, the great friend, and partner. Maureen that girl is soo funny I laugh so many times. She is strong, determined and I really liked that she stood up for her men even when everything shows that he did something against them. Their chemistry is hot, their dialogues great. The story that keeps you on the edge until the end. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

    Best apocalyptic romance series!

What a blockbuster! I couldn't put this down! Storm Gathering continues the saga of survival after an extraterrestrial "Scorpius" bacterium wipes out most of the population of the United States, crippling the country, and leaving most survivors mentally altered, some for the better, some for the worst. Pockets of survivors have banded together for security and resources, often led by strong leaders with military training. One such leader is Marine sniper, Greyson Storm, who leads The Mercs in Santa Barbara. Greyson kidnapped horticulturist/biotechnology engineer Maureen Shadow as part of a complicated plan to rid the world of the evil that started this disastrous epidemic. He knew he would have her equally alpha brother, Raze Shadow, to contend with. But he totally did not expect the fallout from Maureen herself, or his heart. This story had everything I could ask for! Thrilling romance, hot alpha hero, smart gutsy heroine, fast-paced plot with exciting action, and somber moments of contemplation, mixed with wit and humour. There is so much potential sadness in a post-apocalyptic world but Rebecca Zanetti strikes a perfect balance between despair and hope. The survivors struggle against evil, adversity, and each other. Nevertheless, they display awe-inspiring loyalty and honour. A very thrilling and yet thoughtful and intelligent read. To borrow a few words from Greyson to Maureen: "I never even dreamed of you. You're too good to be true." Ditto, Grey. I never even dreamed apocalyptic romance could be this good until the Scorpius Syndrome series came along. I loved it! As with the previous books in this series, Storm Gathering can be read as a standalone romance but is also part of a larger story arc that is exciting, compelling, and addictive. This is my honest and voluntary review on an ARC received via NetGalley.
