  • AWESOME

It was such a great book! i loved the romance and fantasy. I cried and cried at the end of the book. So many emotions were bounded up in an amazig way. If you liked this book i would suggest you read Remnants series by Lisa Bergren. Good job.

  • An okay read.

Nym, a slave and Elemental, has two choices: either be trained as a weapon or be killed. She chooses life. The cover is gorgeous, the first chapter is strong, yet the rest of the story isn’t nearly as riveting. A lot of it felt like the TV series “The Last Airbender” (which I loved, BTW). But there’s something missing in the book. I can’t really put my finger on it, but it’s almost like there’s too much going on (the servants and their problems, the supposed love triangle, the looming war, etc.) that never really gets enough focus for it to be immediate and memorable – the first chapter is brilliant and if the rest of the book had been written in the same style, well, then I would’ve wanted to know what happens in the next book too. Even the back-copy is all about the first chapter and what it promises… I like the cover because it immediately drew me to the book on the shelf (it was front facing) and I like the title (I love books with myth and folklore in it), but the story and the cover never really connected. A bit of a let-down, but not a bad read. I think this story might be best enjoyed by the younger side of the Young Adult range.

  • Really enjoyed

Really enjoyed the series. Sort of dystopian fantasy novel.

  • Loved it

Great story, loved the characters. Well written, even though it was strange to read in the first person perspective. Still really enjoyed it.
