  • Not forgotten

A beautifully told tale of a time that changed the lives of numerous Native American tribes. It is a testimony to the complexity and richness of cultures now destroyed and a powerful reminder of losses that have diminished us all.

  • Storykeeper

A rivetting story which must be read against a backdrop of our triumphalist eurocentric history of the North American continent. Not scientific from the standpoint of scholarly historical research, but well corroborated by the little of the archeological and traditional, oral sources that survive. Skilfully written and edited. A must read for any serious student of American history

  • Storytelling

A history of indigenous people as told in stories narrated by the elder storytellers. They were tragic but fascinating stories of the spread of small pox that wiped out many villages after a tribes meeting & mingling with the Spanish explorer/warriors.

  • Interesting

2 inter woven native American stories told backwards 1 thread during the time of the spanish conquestdors, the other in the after effects. Learned so much of the culture from then.

  • Very interesting and different

I had no idea what to expect with this book. It is a wonderful story of indigenous people, given from the perspective of a storyteller trying to preserve the culture.
