  • Fantastic

In this emotional read about Emily and Dr. Lucas Socorro, we get a fantastic read about true friendship and how Emily deals with the loss of her family, who she’s still grieving for, after months have passed. Emily and Lucas first meet when she thinks he’s trespassing, lol. She soon learns he’s the newest pediatric doctor to join the ER at Hope Haven. Emily is going to paint murals in the newly constructed pediatric wing at the hospital. I didn’t care for Barbara’s character and I bet you’ll agree with me after reading this wonderful story. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say, there are secrets that will be revealed that may surprise you. Grab your copy and see what happens. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

  • Good book

Emily is recovering from the heart breaking loss of loosing her entire family. She heads to Dune Island for the summer. I really enjoyed this story, the characters and the sweet romance. It was the perfect book to read after the most recent one I just finished.Definitely recommend ❤️ Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the early copy

  • It is as poweful as the ocean.

I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. This is Kristen Harper's first book and in my opinion, it is a best seller. She reached inside of me and tugged at my heartstrings, she had me jumping up and down at the moment I thought Emily was going to give up but instead realized if she could do what just happened she could do anything. I could feel the spark that finally ignited and although it wasn't smooth sailing after that because like life there is always someone wanting to tear you down., it was enough of a spark to give her the strength she needed to carry on. But there was also a part where someone you don't even realize can see you, not only in who you, I want to say pretend to be because when you aren't quite where you want to be I think you pretend until you are there, but the turmoil, the strength, the struggles, everything that is going on inside of you all rolled up in a huge storm, the author captured and brought it to life. Like the ocean, this book will bring you to the crashing waves, the receding waves but before you are ready, it will come crashing back with more power. I can't wait to read the next book she writes because when I compare a book to the powerful ocean, it is a great book. Definitely put this on your going to-read list.

  • Well written fast read

New series, new author. Beautiful story of life, love and grief. Emily had a big dose of all three! The love of her wonderful family and fiancé. The heartbreak of loss and learning to deal with it. Emily moves to her family summer cabin across the country to be with friends and to get a handle on her life and grief. Of course thru her friends she meets Lucas, an all around good guy. There are many ups and downs, a few twists and surprises. I did predict early on the twists, so no surprise, but was well written and a fast read.

  • A sweet read

This was a book of healing. Author Kristin Harper wrote a book that touched my heart and which was so apt for me today as I felt exactly the same as the main character, Emily. She lost her loved ones, and I lost some of mine, though not all to death. I read the book with tears welling up as I could feel everything she felt. The writing was so crystal pure that it felt it sang my song. There were times I drifted in and out of Emily’s character. Secrets too popped up which shook the foundations of her beliefs. Luckily, a vein of hope and another of happiness slowly made their way to her life. I was happy when she found her peace. She deserved it. A beautiful heart-warming read.
